Cupertino, California – February 17, 2025 – Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone SE 4 on Wednesday, February 19, with a significant redesign that could eliminate the Home button for the first time, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display and a 48MP camera.
The launch, anticipated to be a press release via the Apple Newsroom, could also see the device rebranded as the iPhone 16E. CEO Tim Cook hinted at the announcement, referring to the “newest member of the family,” but has not confirmed the product name.
The announcement timing is expected around 5 a.m. Pacific/8 a.m. Eastern/1 p.m. U.K., or possibly aligned with Cook’s social media activity around 8 a.m. Pacific/11 a.m. Eastern/4 p.m. U.K.
Key Expected Features and Rumors
The most crucial details about the expected iPhone SE 4/iPhone 16E are its potential features. It is anticipated that the product could include a 6.1-inch OLED display and a large camera upgrade with a 48MP lens.
Additionally, Apple is expected to equip the device with the powerful A18 chipset, enabling support for Apple Intelligence features. It has also been suggested that the product could include a larger battery capacity and an Action button, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Should Apple remove the Home button as rumored, it may add Face ID for biometric authentication instead.

Beyond these core features, other rumors suggest that the iPhone SE 4 will ship with the latest iOS version, potentially pre-installed with iOS 18.
