Recently, New Jersey has been buzzing with reports of mysterious drones flying in the sky. Since mid-November 2024, many people have spotted large drones moving in strange patterns, especially at night. This has led to a lot of questions and concerns about where these drones are coming from and what they are doing.

What We Know So Far

The first reports of these drone sightings came on November 18 near the Picatinny Arsenal, a military base in Morris County. Witnesses say these drones are much bigger than typical hobby drones, with some comparing their size to bicycles or small cars. As time went on, more sightings were reported across at least ten counties in New Jersey, including near well-known places like Donald Trump’s golf course in Bedminster and over the Raritan River.

Local police and federal agencies have received many reports, with some officials estimating there could be “at least 400” sightings. Many of these sightings happen after dark, and the drones often fly without any lights on.

Investigations Are Underway

To figure out what’s going on, the FBI is leading an investigation into these drone sightings. They are working with the Department of Homeland Security and local police to learn more about these flying objects. Officials are asking the public for help, encouraging anyone who has seen the drones or taken videos to share their information.

Even though officials say there is no immediate danger from these drones, safety concerns are still important. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has reassured residents that they are safe but has called for stricter rules about drone flying. Congressman Jeff Van Drew also expressed worries that our airspace might not be secure enough.

What People Are Saying

There are many theories about where these drones might be coming from. Some people think they could be linked to foreign countries, but U.S. officials have said there is no proof of this. The White House has suggested that many of the reported sightings might actually be misidentified planes rather than drones.

As residents share their thoughts and theories online, local police are using their own drones to gather more information about the mysterious flying objects.

A Community Watching the Skies

As this situation continues to develop, it shows how much people care about safety and transparency in their communities. While officials work hard to find out what these mysterious drones are all about, residents remain alert, looking up at the sky for answers.

In today’s world with advanced technology and security concerns, this mystery has sparked important conversations about safety and privacy. As we wait for more news on this strange story, we can’t help but wonder what else might be flying above New Jersey.
